چکیده

• In angiology, many efforts have been made to find methods which might be helpful in the differential diagnosis of vascular diseases. These include clinical, biochemical, histological, innnunological, and many other methods. In searching for a method to give us at least partial confirmation of a differential diagnosis, we turned to antivascular antibodies. The purpose of our investigation was to facilitate the diagnosis of the nature of vascular lesions by means of observations of immunological processes which may reflect changes in the blood vessel wall. Two basic assumptions were made: (1) antivessel antibodies do not occur in normal human beings, and (2) protein or lipoprotein carriers of immunological material resulting from pathological processes can act as heterogeneous substances and lead to the formation of corresponding antibodies. These problems have only recently begun to attract attention. The aim of our work was to find out (1) if antibodies against pathologically changed blood vessels actually exist, (2) if they exist as a unit or are formed against individual blood vessel layers, and (3) if there are quantitative differences in the antibodies against individual layers of the blood vessel coat.

Background:The prevalence of diabetes mellitus is increasing worldwide and the relationship between peripheral vascular involvement and the complications of diabetes disease, such as retinopathy, has been reported in some studies but has not yet been fully proven. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between diabetes complications and peripheral and central vascular involve...

Prevalence of Peripheral Neuropathy and its Related Factors in Diabetic Children, Neishabour City, Iran

Background One of themost common metabolic diseases is diabetes mellitus (DM), which its prevalence is growing trend. Early diagnose peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in early stages of patients with DM contributes to metabolic control and prevents severe complications.  We aimed to determine the prevalence of peripheral neuropathy (PN) and its related factor in Diabetic children. Materials and Meth...

Severity of peripheral atherosclerosis is associated with fibrinogen and degradation of cross-linked fibrin.

Immunohistochemical studies of human atherosclerotic lesions have demonstrated the occurrence of fibrin deposition and its degradation in the arterial wall. We studied fibrinogen, the generation of thrombin, and the degradation of fibrin in 40 patients with stable peripheral arterial occlusive disease of varying severity, as assessed by the ankle/brachial pressure index and duplex ultrasonograp...
